The goal of this program is to provide guidance to athletes brand new to barbell training. It uses a linear progression to slowly get athletes up to speed over a period of 12 weeks. Ideally this program is only meant to be ran once, however some athletes can pick up from Week 7 and repeat that for awhile while still making progress. If you notice, this is not a traditional body building split where you work on separate body parts like chest or legs. Instead this programs focuses around the following movement patterns; the squat, the bench, the deadlift, and the overhead press. These are followed by accessory exercises designed to improve those 4 lifts and make you stronger as a whole.
