So last Saturday I competed in the Pelican State Classic in Abbeville, Louisiana. The plan was to show up and give it my all and to see how I stacked up against the rest of the lifters in my state. Did a little better than I thought I would and met a lot of really cool people.
If anyone out there is on the fence about whether or not to compete in a powerlifting competition I can say with absolute certainty that you should go for it no matter your experience level. Everyone there was incredible friendly and they all wanted everyone to do well. I really don't think I've met a more supportive crowd. I've already decided that I'll be competing in another competition on May 6th and I intend to do much better.
